How to convert cups to grams:
- Pick the ingredient
each one has its own weight per cup.
- Type the amount
whole numbers, decimals or fractions like ½.
- Choose your cup
US, metric or 200 ml — then read off grams.
Questions:
- Why can't I convert cups to grams with one number?
- Cups measure volume, grams measure weight. A cup of flour is about 125 g, a cup of sugar 200 g and a cup of honey 340 g — it depends on the ingredient.
- How big is a cup?
- A US cup is 236.6 ml (usually rounded to 240 ml). Australia, New Zealand and Canada use a 250 ml metric cup, Japanese and Korean recipes use 200 ml, and most of Europe weighs instead.
- How many grams is a tablespoon?
- A tablespoon is 15 ml. For water that's 15 g, for flour about 8 g, for sugar about 13 g and for honey about 21 g.
- Is it free?
- Yes. No account, no app needed.
